Dear colleagues Following a public nomination period, the ASO Address Council (ASO AC) selected the final set of candidates to fill the ASO seat on the ICANN Board currently held by Raimundo Beca, whose term expires in June 2007. The candidates are: - Al-Din J. Kadhem Al-Radhi - Smain Aouissi - Raimundo Beca - Vikram Gupta - Jordi Palet Martinez - Remco Van Mook - Shahmeet Singh - Kuo-Wei Wu In May 2007, the ASO AC will make its final selection to appoint one of these individuals to fill the ASO Board seat. To aid them in making their final selection, the ASO AC members request your comments and statements of support for these candidates. A public comment period will be open until 18:00 UTC on 20 April 2007. You can provide your comments and statements of support for the candidates on the aso-announce mailing list, where they will be publicly archived: http://www.aso.icann.org/lists Alternatively, if you would prefer not to subscribe to that mailing list, you may submit your comments directly to the ASO AC Nominations Committee <board-nomms(a)aso.icann.org>. Dear colleagues This is the final reminder that the ASO has called for nominations to the ICANN Board and that the nomination period will close on 21 February 2007. This nomination period will close on 21 February 2007. All candidates desiring to be selected to the ICANN board by the Address Council must meet the selection criteria and conflict of interest requirements as stated by ICANN in its Bylaws and other relevant documents that ICANN publishes or identifies. No candidate will be considered who does not sign a Letter of Certification attesting to compliance with the ICANN stated requirements as well as attesting to previous conduct and character. This letter will be sent via email to each applicant with a set of administrative instructions concerning its execution. Any applicant who fails to follow these instructions will not be considered as a candidate for selection. Candidates are advised that they may be required to travel one time during the month of March or April 2007 if the Address Council decides to conduct in- person interviews. Candidates are advised that they will be expected to complete one or more questionnaires. Any candidate that fails to complete a questionnaire by the deadline designated will not be considered as a candidate for selection. Nominations may be submitted by anyone by sending email to secretariat(a)aso.icann.org. ICANN and the NRO sign ICANN ASO MoU

Dear Colleagues, I am happy to inform you that on 21 October 2004, the Number Resource Organization (NRO) and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Address Supporting Organization (ASO). This MoU stipulates how the NRO will fulfil the role, responsibilities, and functions of the ASO as outlined in the ICANN Bylaws. The signing ceremony took place at the biannual Public Policy Meeting of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN).
