I think we should strive to have a longer nomination period than two weeks if possible, to ensure that we can do proper outreach. The nomcom is rather workload heavy, so potential candidates might require some time to get proper approvals, or estimate other work commitments before they can agree to be nominated.
If it’s not possible to move the end of the nomination period, I suggest that we do not wait until 28 May to announce it, but do it as soon as possible. This to allow for as much time as possible to find and nominate good candidates.
I also suggest that we not just do one announcement but at least two, that we ensure that the announcements get distributed to all five RIR announcement mailing lists, and that the announcement is also tweeted.

I guess the only issue here would be coordination with RIRs comm teams.
It could maybe be advanced in couple of days, but don´t think it would make much difference.

If you knew by End of Day on the Sunday, how long before we could send out notice, post to website etc? Even if there was a small delay with RIR Communications, this extra time would be beneficial.

Announcement in the ASO and NRO website and NRO tweet is immediately after approval. It can be replicated in one business day in the mailing list in the RIR communities excepted in LACNIC as they need to translate it in Spanish and Portuguese, it could take an extra business day for them.

Announcement in the ASO and NRO website and NRO tweet is immediately after approval. It can be replicated in one business day in the mailing list in the RIR communities excepted in LACNIC as they need to translate it in Spanish and Portuguese, it could take an extra business day for them.

I think we should strive to have a longer nomination period than two weeks if possible, to ensure that we can do proper outreach. The nomcom is rather workload heavy, so potential candidates might require some time to get proper approvals, or estimate other work commitments before they can agree to be nominated.
If it’s not possible to move the end of the nomination period, I suggest that we do not wait until 28 May to announce it, but do it as soon as possible. This to allow for as much time as possible to find and nominate good candidates.
I also suggest that we not just do one announcement but at least two, that we ensure that the announcements get distributed to all five RIR announcement mailing lists, and that the announcement is also tweeted.

Announcement in the ASO and NRO website and NRO tweet is immediately after approval. It can be replicated in one business day in the mailing list in the RIR communities excepted in LACNIC as they need to translate it in Spanish and Portuguese, it could take an extra business day for them.

I think we should strive to have a longer nomination period than two weeks if possible, to ensure that we can do proper outreach. The nomcom is rather workload heavy, so potential candidates might require some time to get proper approvals, or estimate other work commitments before they can agree to be nominated.
If it’s not possible to move the end of the nomination period, I suggest that we do not wait until 28 May to announce it, but do it as soon as possible. This to allow for as much time as possible to find and nominate good candidates.
I also suggest that we not just do one announcement but at least two, that we ensure that the announcements get distributed to all five RIR announcement mailing lists, and that the announcement is also tweeted.

A nomination period of one month is included in the call for nomination to be distributed tomorrow. Other phases of the timeline have been moved accordingly.
Here is the timeline to be used
* Announcement of call for nominations for 2021 ICANN NomCom: 28 May 2020 * Nomination period ends: 27 June 2020 * Evaluation of nominations by the ASO AC: 28 June 2020 8 July 2020 * Voting period by the ASO AC: 9 July 2020 15 July 2020 * Announcement of selected delegate: around 16 July 2020.
As per last year call we are requesting the next information
1. Have you read the time commitment for NomCom and are you willing to commit the time required to fulfil this role?
2. Have you been part of NomCom in the past representing any other constituency?
3. How many ICANN/RIR meetings you have attended in last five years? Which SOs/ACs do you actively follow?
4. Please briefly share why do you would like to join NomCom as the ASO-AC appointee.

Announcement in the ASO and NRO website and NRO tweet is immediately after approval. It can be replicated in one business day in the mailing list in the RIR communities excepted in LACNIC as they need to translate it in Spanish and Portuguese, it could take an extra business day for them.

I think we should strive to have a longer nomination period than two weeks if possible, to ensure that we can do proper outreach. The nomcom is rather workload heavy, so potential candidates might require some time to get proper approvals, or estimate other work commitments before they can agree to be nominated.
If its not possible to move the end of the nomination period, I suggest that we do not wait until 28 May to announce it, but do it as soon as possible. This to allow for as much time as possible to find and nominate good candidates.
I also suggest that we not just do one announcement but at least two, that we ensure that the announcements get distributed to all five RIR announcement mailing lists, and that the announcement is also tweeted.
