Just a reminder – I know things get very hectic at ICANN meetings.

 

Attached is a very short presentation of our ICANN results – 10 minutes – that we have given to a couple of other constituencies.

The presentation basically covers (1) why is legitimacy important; (2) how much legitimacy does ICANN have; (3) what are the main factors that shape legitimacy beliefs at ICANN

 

Or if we could very briefly tell ASO about our RIR study, so that we can be transparent about that work.

 

But only if there is time, of course.

Greetings from ICANN76 where I have just registered.

 

I believe we last met before the pandemic at ICANN’s Montreal meeting, where Hortense Jongen and I presented some preliminary results of our ICANN legitimacy study. I recall your lively interest.

 

Two quick things now. First, you may have seen that Hortense and I now have a full analysis of ICANN legitimacy available for presentation. We circulated a PPT via David Olive’s office a few days ago. Would you like us to give this presentation to ASO? We could introduce it briefly during one of your sessions at the Cancun meeting on Monday or Tuesday? Then if interested we could do a fuller webinar for you at a later date?

 

Second, Hortense and I now do a similar study of levels and drivers of legitimacy for the South-based RIRs (AFRINIC, APNIC, LACNIC). We could briefly introduce the study to your ASO meeting at Cancun, so that you know a little more about what we are doing? We are already working closely with Oscar, Paul and the AFRINIC secretariat.

 

Let us know if it works to speak briefly to your ASO meeting on Monday or Tuesday?
