Dear ASO AC As part of the annual ASO work plan, the AC should start discussing about the 2022 teleconference calendar during this December meeting. I have published a first approach on next year teleconference calendar considering the practice of moving the meeting in the first Wednesday of the month if it clashes with another relevant Internet Industry event. For the purpose of the meeting in December at least the date and time of the January meeting should be agreed. LACNIC 36 The event took place from October 11th to 15th in conjunction with the LACNOG2021, the LAC region network operators forum. More than 800 members of the community participated in LACNIC’s first hybrid event, which provided for in-person participation in both Uruguay and Argentina as well as online attendees who joined the event from 30 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean. There were more than 1000 people registered and about 200 people following the sessions each day. During the first day, tutorials were covering IPv6 deployment as well as network interconnection and routing security. For the opening section and interview with Vint Cerf was presented followed by the Policy Forum. During the Policy Forum, 6 proposals were presented: - LAC-2018-13 Acceptable Usage Policy for the mailing list - LAC-2021-6 PDP change to enhance participation and proposals quality - LAC-2021-5 Update on End site and End user definitions - LAC-2021-4 Allowance for resource transfer and no need to return them - LAC-2019-7 and LAC-2020-9 both proposing Updates on Policy Chair selection process LACNIC promoted a RPKI ROA Contest to award organization that create the highest percentage of ROAs during the event week. There was the IPv6 Challenge that awarded organizations that showed a successful IPv6 implementation case. LACNOG2021 had more than 15 presentations were given spreader over 1 and half day during the week. The FIRST Symposium Conference was also held during one day of the event week. During the event closure, LACNIC announced that next event, LACNIC 37, will be held in Cali Colombia, also in hybrid format, from May 2nd to 6th 2022. APNIC52 Policy Updates

Dear AC, Here is the summary of the policy update I shared yesterday from APNIC52. Following policies reached consensus at APNIC 52. - prop-135: Documentation - prop-136: Registration Requirements - prop-139: SOR not required - prop-140: Update End-Site Definition This policy reached community consensus at APNIC 52 but there was overwhelming support to make it a guideline rather than a policy. - prop-138: Restricting AS-ID in ROA This policy didn't reach community consensus. - prop-141: Change maximum delegation size of IPv4 address from 512 ( /23 ) to 768 (/23+/24) addresses This policy reached community consensus but due to some points beyond policy SIG jurisdictions were mentioned thats why EC sent this policy back to the author for clarification at APNIC 52 - prop-137: IPv6 assignment for associate members For consensus measurement, policy SIG chairs decided to use Zoom voting rather than Confer. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to share that during APNIC 52, the community elected Dr Di Ma for the ASO-AC position for 2 years starting from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2023. Dr Ma is the Principal Research Fellow of ZDNS, a company that provides Internet infrastructure services. He has been leading research activities related to DNSSEC and RPKI.
